इलेक्ट्रिक अर्थिंग किसे कहते है?
किसी विद्युत उपकरण या सिस्टम के नॉन कंडक्टिव धातु बॉडी या पार्ट्स को कम प्रतिरोध (अर्थिंग इलेक्ट्रोड) के साथ पृथ्वी से जोड़ना इलेक्ट्रिक अर्थिंग कहलाता है। अर्थिग इलेक्ट्रोड के आकर के अनुसार इलेक्ट्रिक अर्थिंग दो प्रकार से की जाती है -
1. पाइप इलेक्ट्रोड अर्थिंग (Pipe electrodes earthing)
इसमें अर्थिग इलेक्ट्रोड के रूप में धातु का पाइप काम में लाया जाता है, निचे पाइप अर्थिंग का योजनाबद्ध आरेख (schematic diagram) दिया गया है।Rod and pipe electrodes: These electrodes shall be made of metal rod or pipe having a clean surface not covered by paint, enamel or other poorly conducting material.

2. प्लेट इलेक्ट्रोड अर्थिंग (Plate electrodes earthing)
इसमें अर्थिग इलेक्ट्रोड के रूप में तांबे की प्लेट (अधिकतम मोटाई - 3.15 mm), GI या स्टील प्लेट (अधिकतम मोटाई - 6.3 mm) काम में ली जाती है, प्लेट का आकर न्यूनतम 60 X 60 से.मी. का होना चाहिए। निचे प्लेट अर्थिंग का योजनाबद्ध आरेख (schematic diagram) दिया गया है।Plate electrodes: Plate electrodes, when made of galvanized iron or steel, shall not be less than 6.3 mm in thickness. Plate electrodes of copper shall be not less than 3.15 mm in thickness. Plate electrodes shall be of a size, at least 60 cm by 60 cm.
